Helena Woykovsky

Helena “Helen” (Lajkowska) Woykovsky, 89, of East Hartford, beloved wife of 59 years to John T. Woykovsky, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Born in Nowy Dwor, Poland on December 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Feliks and Julianna (Laskowska) Lajkowski, Helen came to America in 1963. Helen had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 59 years and was a former communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. She enjoyed knitting, keeping busy in the garden and watching the UCONN Lady Huskies! She also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and her grand dogs, Cooper and Kane.

Helen is survived by her son, John J. Woykovsky and his wife Margaret of Cheyenne, WY; her two daughters, Ann Evans of Glastonbury, Diane Monaco and her husband Jeff of Southbury; two grandchildren, Bailie Evans of Glastonbury and Daniel Evans of Medford, MA and her former son-in-law, Bill Evans of Marlborough. They will all miss her dearly and cherish the wonderful memories they made with her. Her husband, John, will especially miss her company and their unbreakable bond of love formed over a lifetime together. She also leaves her sister Maria Sawicka, and her nieces Kasia and Yolanda in Poland, as well as a niece from her brother Jozef named Krystyna. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joe.

Funeral services were held privately on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial followed at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, East Hartford. For on-line expressions of sympathy to the family, please visit www.desopoeh.com.
