Howard Skipper McGough

Howard E. ""Skipper"" McGough, Jr., 73, of East Hartford, beloved son of the late Howard E. and Edith (Braasch) McGough, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Hartford on December 18, 1944, Howard was a life-long resident of East Hartford. Prior to his retirement, Howard was employed for over 30 years by the City of Hartford-Sanitation Department. He enjoyed baseball and was a fan of the New York Yankees. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two sisters, Joan Fluharty of South Windsor and Ailene Joyce McGough of East Hartford. Howard is survived by two sisters, Edith ""Edie"" Sisk and her husband Frank of East Hartford, and Mary Jarrell of Lafayette, LA; five nephews and two nieces and their families; several former co-workers and dear friends. Funeral service will be Wednesday (January 31, 2018) at 1 pm at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the family plot at St. Jerome Cemetery, 1666 North Hampton Street, Holyoke, MA.
