Iolanda Pappalardo

Iolanda “Iole” (Floresi) Pappalardo, 90, of East Hartford, loving wife of over 39 years of the late Santo “Sam” Pappalardo, went to join her late beloved husband in heaven on Friday, June 27, 2025. Born in Pachino, province of Siracusa, Italy on June 28, 1934, a daughter of the late Paolo and Ada (Moscatello) Floresi, she had been a resident of East Hartford since 1968. Iolanda was a former member of the Floridian Ladies Society in Wethersfield and was a woman of strong faith. She was an excellent cook and baker who loved making dinner for her family and close friends to enjoy. She was an avid reader, talented seamstress who made various clothes for her loved ones to wear, and one who liked traveling and going to the beach. Most of all Iolanda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her granddaughters, and helping raise her nieces, nephews, and other children she knew.

Iolanda is survived by her caring daughter, Nella A. (Pappalardo) Morello of Rocky Hill; two precious granddaughters, Loredana Morello and Samantha Morello both of Rocky Hill; a sister, Lilliana Morana in Naples, Italy; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Along with her beloved husband and parents, Iolanda was predeceased by her son, Joseph F. Pappalardo of East Hartford, and a sister, Maria Mizzi of Pachino, Italy.

Funeral service will be Friday (July 11, 2025) at 10:30 am from the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 am at Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, Hebron Avenue/Wickham Drive, Glastonbury. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel in East Hartford on Friday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Iolanda’s memory may be made to the Padre Pio Foundation of America, 463 Main Street, Cromwell, CT 06416.
