

James ""Jim"" F. Buonopane, Sr., 83, of East Hartford, loving husband of 38 years of the late Nancy Lee (Buckland) Buonopane, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at his home surrounded by his caring family. Born in Cohasset, MA on September 19, 1931, a son of the late Raphael and Mary (McCann) Buonopane, he had resided in East Hartford for the past 60 years. Jim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement Jim was a Radiographer for many years for Industrial X-Ray companies in the Hartford area. An avid and talented Ten-Pin Bowler, Jim participated in many area bowling leagues, most recently the ""Tuesday Seniors"" and ""Oldies but Goodies"" leagues at Silver Lane Bowling Alley in East Hartford. Jim was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge # 1893, Manchester and was an avid card player who loved playing in ""Set-Back"" and ""Cribbage"" leagues. He also enjoyed landscaping and provided excellent lawn care to residents in his local community. Jim is survived by three daughters, Diana Mello and her husband, Frank, of Manchester, Jacqueline Broege and her husband, Ronald, of West Hartford, Nancy L. Buonopane of Burlington; two sons, David Guerrin and his wife, Amy, of Plantsville, James F. Buonopane, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Marie Harriman of Freeport, ME; twelve special grandchildren; seventeen adored great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Funeral services will be Thursday (January 8th) at 10:30 am at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with Rev. Eric Sherlock officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Veteran's Memorial Field-Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.
