
Joseph A. Boucher, 80, of East Hartford, loving husband of over 53 years to Evelyn (Martocchia) Boucher, went to be with our Lord in eternal life on Monday (October 11, 2010) surrounded by his caring family at his home. Born in Central Falls, RI on April 14, 1930, a son of the late Aurelius and Rosalie (Audette) Boucher, he had been a resident of East Hartford for the past fifty years. Joe was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement in 1987, Joe was employed for 25 years by Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection & Insurance Company. A devout Catholic, Joe was a faithful communicant and former lector at the Church of The Assumption in Manchester. He was a former communicant, lector, Eucharistic Minister, CCD and confirmation class teacher at St. Christopher Church, East Hartford where he was involved with the Evangelization movement within the Catholic Church. Joe was also part of the Charismatic Renewal Office at St. Thomas Seminary, Bloomfield for the Hartford Archdiocese. Joe was also a former Boy Scout Troop leader in East Hartford who loved fishing, gardening, and taking care of his yard. However, Joe's greatest passion in life was his family and spending as much quality time with them. Along with his devoted wife, Evelyn, Joe is survived by his three sons, Mark H. Boucher of Montville, Todd R. Boucher and his wife, Tammy, of Lula, GA, Glen Joseph Boucher and his wife, Mary, of Naugatuck; three adored grandchildren, Teresa Curtis and her husband, Thomas, of Union, Angela Boucher of Montville, and Blaze Boucher of Lula, GA. Joe also leaves a sister, Theresa Dextradeur of Central Falls, RI; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Gozzo and her husband, Salvatore, of Rocky Hill; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Funeral services will be Friday (October 15th) at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Church of The Assumption, South Adams Street, Manchester. Burial with military honors will be at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, (Section J), Bloomfield.
