

Lucy F. (Cassano) Lysik, 95, of South Windsor and formerly of East Hartford, peacefully entered into eternal life on Sunday (July 1, 2012) at her home. Lucy was the loving wife of over 58 years of the late Joseph F. Lysik. Born in Bristol on April 5, 1917, a daughter of the late Antonio and Teresa (Belmonte) Cassano, she had been a resident of East Hartford for 54 years prior to moving to South Windsor over four years ago. A graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1935 she was employed by Royal Typewriter Company, Hartford during World War II. A devout Catholic, Lucy was a long-time faithful communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. She loved reading, painting, traveling, the ocean water, swimming, and yoga. However, most of all, Lucy took great pride in being a devoted and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Besides her beloved husband, Joe, and her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Cassano, and five sisters, Louise Cassano, Anna Cassano, Antoinette Cassano, Phyllis Lattarulo, and Mary Craco. Lucy is survived by a son, Ronald J. Lysik and his wife, Jo Ann, of Narragansett, RI; four daughters, Elaine M. Lysik-Paquette and her husband, Raymond J. Paquette, of East Hartford, Lois J. Lysik-Walz of Manchester, Marilyn J. Lysik-Meyer and her significant other, James M. Banfield, of South Glastonbury, Barbara J. Lysik and her husband, Ayman Bisher, of Colchester; ten special grandchildren, Steven Lysik and his wife, Kristin, of Charleston, SC, Brian Lysik and his wife, Amy, of Manchester, Wendy Mahoney and her husband, Donald, of Avon, Holly Paquette of East Hartford, Bennett Walz and his significant other, Megan Nowak, of Manchester, Ashley Meyer and her significant other, Jeff Kruse, of Cromwell, Travis Meyer and his wife, Christina, of Rocky Hill, Eamonn Brown and his wife, Tracey, of Southern Pines, NC, Trevor Brown of Newport Beach, CA, Conor Brown of Los Angeles, CA; nine adored great-grandchildren, Tory, Noelle, Matthew, Aidan, Declan, Brendan, Colleen, Kyla, and Beckham. She also leaves a brother, Michael D. Cassano and his wife, Joan, of Somers; a sister, Theresa Kelly formerly of Enfield; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday (July 5) at 11:30 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12 noon at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday morning from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions in Lucy's name may be made to a favorite charity of the donor's choice .
