Margaret (chilone) Mealey

Margaret 'Peggy'(Chilone) Mealey, 76, of East Hartford, loving wife of the late Robert Mealey, entered into eternal life on Friday, (April 30, 2010). Born in Hartford on July 25, 1933, a daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Mascaro) Chilone, she had resided in East Hartford for most of her adult life. Peggy was a former communicant of St. Rose Church, East Hartford who also enjoyed listening to music and playing cards. Peggy was a sports enthusiast who was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees and Boston Celtics. Along with her beloved husband and parents, Peggy was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Chilone and Francis 'Moose' Chilone; and a sister, Clara Morin. Peggy is survived by a daughter, Jill M. Carr and her husband, Francis, of Manchester; a son, John A. 'Jack' Frascarelli and his wife, Lora, of South Windsor; a brother, Salvatore Chilone of East Hartford; four special grandchildren, Leah, Anthony, Ryan, and Dustin; two adored great-grandchildren, Trevor and Giovanni; two dear nieces, Peggy Horvith and Gloria Lasinsky; and several other nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 5, at 10 a.m. at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will be at Hillside cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday morning from 9-10 a.m. Memorial contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to the Vitas Innovative Hospice Care2, 255 Pitkin Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
