Mary E. (Layton) Daly

Mary E. (Layton) Daly, 88, of East Hartford, loving wife of 51 years of the late James A. Daly, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Equinunk, PA on March 18, 1926, a daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Osborn) Layton, she had been a resident of East Hartford since 1952. Prior to her retirement, Mary was a Register Nurse for 45 years in the Hartford area. A devout catholic, she was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford. Mary is survived by her beloved son, James D. Daly and his wife, Jane, of Newington; a special grandson, Christopher Daly of New York, NY; a sister, Margaret Longo of Vestal, NY; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn Cousins of Honesdale, PA. Funeral service will be Friday (March 20th) at 11:30 am from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12 noon at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, (Section 23B), Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday morning from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
