Mary Stauch (Duplessis)

Mary (Duplessis) Stauch, 94, of East Hartford, loving wife of the late Edward H. Stauch, went home to be with Our Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2011 with her caring family by her side at her home. Born in Van Buren, ME on March 31, 1917, a daughter of the late Willie and Adele (Violette) Duplessis, she had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 61 years. Prior to her retirement, Mary was employed by G. Fox & Co., Hartford in their bakery department. A devout catholic, Mary was a faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford. Mary was also an avid gardener who took pride in her flower gardens. Mary is survived by two daughters, Joan Stauch of East Hartford with whom she made her home, and Shirley McGarry of East Hartford; a son, David Stauch and his wife, Linda, of Feeding Hills, MA; six special grandchildren, Michael McGarry and his wife, Amy, in Nevada, Steven McGarry and his fiancée, Stephanie Buiel, in New York City, Kevin McGarry and Sara Manning in Texas, Keith Stauch in Nebraska, Erik Stauch in Massachusetts, Geoffrey Stauch and his wife, Melanie, of Newington; three adored great-grandchildren, Jerry Jones-McGarry, Kyra McGarry, and Cole Stauch; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Besides her beloved husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by a son, Jerry Stauch of West Hartford, and a son-in-law, Bernard “Mac” McGarry of East Hartford.

Funeral services will be Wednesday (August 31st) at 10:30 am at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, (Section E), East Hartford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be made to the VNA-Hospice, 103 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105.
