Mary Elizabeth Manoryk passed away peacefully with her devoted family and loving caregiver by her side on October 29, 2019. Mary was born on September 6,1925, in Hartford, to Joseph and Carmella (Pasquariello) Tarvano, who immigrated to the United States from Accadia, Province of Foggia, Italy. Mary often spoke with great happiness about growing up with her five siblings; she especially enjoyed taking trips with the family to Sound View Beach. Mary married the love of her life, Kazimierz Manoryk, also known as Charles, on January 22,1955. Two daughters were born to Mary and Kazimierz; Barbara Antoinette and Jane Marie. Mary and Kazimierz resided in East Hartford for over 60 years. Mary was employed at Travelers Insurance Company for much of her career. She was awarded for her daily attendance; never taking a day off. Before her employment with Travelers Insurance, Mary worked at Top Notch Foods, in East Hartford. A dedicated employee, Mary embraced hard work, even if it meant walking in inclement weather to get to her job. Mary and Kazimierz cherished the time they spent with their children and grandchildren. They were always eager to lend an ear, play chess or offer sage advice when asked. Upon retirement, Mary was able to spend more time with her growing family. She took great joy in watching her six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren grow! Mary and Kazimierz taught their family the value of hard work, integrity, generosity and ensuring that each and every child knew they were greatly loved. Mary was passionate about keeping the family traditions alive. She was a fabulous cook, an avid reader, a lover of old movies and an enthusiast of Watch Hill Village, Rhode Island. Other favorite past times included taking the grandchildren to Friendly’s, the cider mill, proudly attending all their childhood events and sharing in all their adult milestones. Mary’s resilience and bravery during her last years is admired by many. Mary never complained during her illness; she remained graceful, kind, and loving. Her legacy will remain in the hearts of all who loved her. The family wishes to thank the devoted and kind staff at Masonicare Home Hospice. Their support proved invaluable. A special loving thank you to Lucy Nowak, Mary’s angel of a caregiver. Lucy’s dedication and love was a gift from God to Mary and her family. May God bless Lucy for her selfless care to Mary. Mary is survived by her two extremely devoted, loving daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bill Piotrowski of East Hartford, and Jane Marie and Orlando Gaspard of Manchester. Mary also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren and their families; Jessica Vargas and her husband Mauricio; Bill Piotrowski and his wife Andréa; Dawn Attumalil and her husband Johny; Adam Piotrowski and his wife Elise; Daniel Piotrowski and his wife Stephanie; and Kate Nicome and her husband Yannick.
