Matthew V. Matt"" O'Toole

Matthew V. ""Matt"" O'Toole, 75, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Charlotte A. Taketa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, (November 5, 2012) at his home. Born in Dublin, Ireland on Dec. 14, 1936, a son of the late Edward and Mary (Swan) O'Toole, he had been a resident of East Hartford for several years. Prior to his retirement, Matt, (who loved heavy construction engineering) was a Rigging Engineer for many years for construction companies. He loved the outdoors and was an avid reader. Most of all, Matt enjoyed traveling, meeting and interacting with other people. Besides his wife, Charlotte, Matt is survived by four sons, Matthew O'Toole, Stephen O'Toole, David O'Toole, and Sean O'Toole; a daughter, Kelly O'Toole; and a granddaughter, Katie O'Toole. He also leaves a former spouse, Ann O'Toole; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives in Ireland; and many dear friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a former wife, Gail O'Toole.

A memorial service celebrating Matthew's life will be held on Wednesday, Nov 21. at 10:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. At the request of Matt's family, please do not send any flowers.
