Nancy (McDougal) Wilson, 68, of East Hartford, beloved wife for 26 years of the late Richard Wilson, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Born in Hartford on May 21, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Huggard McDougal and Verna Ann (Shaw) Kurozawa. Nancy was a 1971 graduate of Glastonbury High School and had been a resident of East Hartford for over 30 years. Prior to her retirement in 2015, she was employed by The Final Markdown for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed playing Words with Friends, doing word searches, and reading. She’ll forever be remembered for sticking up for the underdog and offering a lending hand whenever possible.
A loving mother and grandmother, Nancy will be forever missed by her two children, Ryan Wilson of Ludlow, MA and Heather Carter of East Hartford, along with her stepson, Michael Wilson of Rocky Hill. In addition to her children, she is leaving behind her eight adored grandchildren: Helena, Nicholas, Justin, Dante, Haley, Davian, Harper, and Haven. Her grandchildren brought her much happiness and purpose as her health declined. She is also survived by her brothers, Brent McDougal Sr. and his wife Nancy of Meriden; Timothy McDougal and his wife Debra of Willington; and her sister, Shelia Salzarulo of East Hartford, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, John McDougal of Willington and Robert McDougal of New Britain and her sister, Tina Jo Scott of Willington.
