

Peter Anselmo, 98, of East Hartford, passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Born on July 27, 1926 in Hartford, CT., he was the son of the late Nicholas Anselmo and Mary Moren. Peter was drafted into service during WWII before his graduation from Hartford High School, and was honorably discharged, but upon return from service he went back to Veterans High to complete his diploma. He served in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Czechoslovakia and Spain.
Prior to retirement, he spent his career as electrician, plumber, carpenter, and welder running the machine shop for Hartford Electric Light, was a member of Knights of Columbus, and worked with Junior Achievement.
In his free time, Peter enjoyed taking his daughters to the park to feed the fish, play games and cards on the living room floor or enjoy a baseball Game.
Peter is survived by his devoted wife of over 74 years Jeanne (Perriolat) Anselmo of East Hartford; two daughters, Alice Anselmo of New Jersey and Blanche Fellows of Glastonbury; eight adored grandchildren, Daniel Jeffries and his wife Alicia, Heather Sawyer and her wife Jennifer, Stacie Lucia and her husband Mike, Ronald Fellows and his husband Joseph, Laura Farnham and her husband Jody, Nicholas Rossi and his wife Adair, Frank Rossi, Dominic Rossi; eight great- grandchildren, Peyton Sawyer, Grace Lucia, Riley Sawyer, Michaela Lucia, Hadley Farnham, Jameson Farnham, Peter Rossi, and Nico Rossi. He also left two special people, Ron Fellows and Jamie Bain. Peter was predeceased by his daughter Marie (Anselmo) Rossi, and his beloved sister Joyce Samiotis.
A funeral service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held on Friday (May 16th) at 11 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow in Green Cemetery, Hubbard Street, Glastonbury. Peter’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday (May 15th) from 4-7 pm at the funeral home chapel.
