
Peter Michael Anselmo, Jr., 68, of Enfield and formerly of East Hartford, peacefully passed away after a long illness on Tuesday (April 6, 2010) with his caring family by his side. He was the loving husband of forty years to Kathleen (Wasilausky) Anselmo of Enfield. Born in Hartford on July 11, 1941, he was a son of Marion (Botwell) Bartone of South Glastonbury and the late Peter Michael Anselmo. Peter grew up in the south-end of Hartford and attended Bulkeley High School. For many years he was a former owner and operator of several parking facilities throughout the city of Hartford. He later went to work at Gerber Scientific where he retired from after thirteen years of dedicated service. Peter was an active member of the Knights of Columbus-Council #3901 in East Hartford. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the East Hartford Sportsmen's Club. Yet, Peter's greatest joy in life was being with his family and spending time at his camp in East Concord, VT. Besides his beloved wife, Kathleen, and his mother, Marion, Peter is survived by his six children, Stephen Weiss and his wife, Gwendyllyn, of Fort Worth, TX, Trish Schoppaul and her husband, John, of Essex, Scott Weiss and his wife, Dorey, of Tracy, CA, Peter Michael Anselmo, III and his wife, Suzy, of Clinton, Patrick Weiss and his wife, Curturah, of Raleigh, NC, Sean Anselmo and his wife, Kimberly, of Ashford; ten grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and former co-workers. Peter was a special person who was loved dearly by his family and close friends, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 10 at 10:30 am at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will be at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday, April 9 from 4-7 pm. Memorial contributions in Peter's memory may be made to a favorite charity of the donor's choice.
