Rose Ortiz

Rose (Miranda) Ortiz, 94, peacefully passed away and reunited with the Lord on Saturday, May 18, 2024. She was born on November 28, 1929 in Manhattan, New York where she lived most of her life before moving to Connecticut residing in East Hartford and Windsor. She spent her career being a seamstress and a nurse in home health care along with raising a family with her late husband of over 60 years, Alfredo Ortiz. In her free time, Rose enjoyed cooking and being a salsa dancer in which she danced with legends. She also spoke various languages. Rose was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt who will all miss her sense of humor.

Rose is survived by her two daughters; Marion T. Lewis and husband Fenton of Windsor and Sandra M. Kuznoff of East Hartford. Along with nineteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three great-great grandsons and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Rose is predeceased by five children; Robert Ortiz, Frankie Ortiz, Ivan Ortiz, Adria Gonzalez, and Sylvia Rodriguez, and two grandsons Efron Rosa and Louis Manuel Perez Jr.

A funeral service for Rose will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 12 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. A calling hour will be held prior to the service starting at 11 am. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
