Timothy "Skip" L. Carpenter

Timothy “Skip” L. Carpenter, 60, beloved husband for 29 years of Kassandra (Mitchell) Carpenter, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. A lifelong resident of East Hartford, Skip was born on January 16, 1961 to William Carpenter Sr. and the late Lorraine (Smith) Carpenter. Growing up, he was an avid athlete, playing on midget football and little league baseball teams. He was a graduate of George J. Penney High School, where he continued his athletic achievements, playing for the football and baseball teams. He worked many years as a driller for New England Boring. Skip enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and vacationing with his family every summer in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the UConn Men’s and Women’s basketball teams. He was also a 30-year member of the British American Club.

In addition to his wife Kassandra and his father William, Skip will be forever missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and John Christian and his three adored granddaughters who brought him so much joy, Haley, Abigail and Riley Christian. He is also survived by three brothers, William Carpenter, Jr. and wife Deborah, Kevin Carpenter and wife Joyce and Christopher Carpenter and wife Veronica and seven dear nieces and nephews, Lauren, Lindsay, Frankie, Alyssa, Courtney, Morgan and Paul, as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to his mother, Skip was predeceased by his nephew, Luke. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff of the ICU at Hartford Hospital for their care and compassion.

Calling hours will be Saturday, December 18, from 1-3 p.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 3 p.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Masks will be required in the funeral home. There will be a celebration of Tim's life in the summer of 2022.
