Trifon Stefi, 77, of Glastonbury, loving husband of Vasilije (Cuko) Stefi, passed away peacefully at his home with his caring family by his side on Sunday, March 15, 2020. Born in Albania on September 15, 1942, a son of the late Llambri and Fanije (Gorreja) Stefi, he had been a resident of Glastonbury for the past eighteen years. Prior to his retirement, Trifon was employed for several years by Stop & Shop Supermarket on Glastonbury Boulevard in Glastonbury. He enjoyed gardening and soccer, but most of all he loved being a grandfather and spending time with his cherished grandchildren.
Along with his beloved wife Vasilije, Trifon is survived by his daughter, Mirela Haxhi and her husband, Nik, of Glastonbury with whom he made his home; his two sons, Arti Stefi and his wife, Luljeta, of Glastonbury, Markeljan Stefi and his wife, Irena, in Albania; three brothers, Mina Stefi, Caci Stefi, and Gori Stefi all in Albania; a sister, Lika Cuni in Albania; seven adored grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, co-workers, and dear friends.
Funeral service will be Thursday (March 19th) at 11 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Fairfield Avenue, Hartford. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, (Section 38), Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Wednesday (March 18th) from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. A Trisagion service will be celebrated at 6:15 pm on Wednesday evening at the funeral home chapel.
