

Wallace Malcolm Hill, 81, of East Hartford, beloved husband for 53 years of Julie (Cichon) Hill, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, July 14, 2016. Born in Elmira, NY on August 7, 1934, he was the son of the late Richard and Thelma (Tucker) Hill. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Wallace received his BA from Ithaca College and worked as an accountant for many years. He was a member of the American Legion and was an avid football and baseball fan. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Wallace will be dearly missed by his wife Julie; two daughters, Deborah Wojnilo and husband Richard of Murrieta, CA and Christine Harding of Enfield and his four adored grandchildren, Lindsay Wojnilo, Cody James Hill, Kyle Hill and Skylar Mason. He is also survived by three sisters, Carol, Marie and Joyce, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Jack and two sisters, Louise and Phyllis. Special thanks to his caregiver, Thomas, for this past year of service and to his hospice team, Brenna, Linda, Nicole and Dan.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow in the State Veterans’ Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service on Tuesday morning, (July 19, 2016) from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Donations in Wallace’s memory may be made to Connecticut Children’s Hospital, 282 Washington Street, Hartford, CT 06106.
