

Amparo H. Macias, 88, entered eternal life on December 22, 2015 in El Paso, Texas. Amparo retired as layaway supervisor after 32 years at The Popular. Grandma was preceded in death by her husband Luis “Chicho” Macias; son-in-law George Hernandez; sisters Eva, Consuelo, Esperanza, Beatriz; brothers Antonio, Jose, Salvador, Manuel, Luis, and Bernardino. She is survived by her proud daughter, Irma, grandsons, George Jr. and Steven Louis; and many caring family members. Special appreciation to Hospice of El Paso; Nazareth Care Center; Ruben and Martha Herrera’s Foster Home; caregivers Maria and Juanita; and family members who dedicated their time in taking care of Grandma.
Grandma enjoyed furnishing her home with distinct style for her family; cooking for and spending time with her grandsons; and attending Bowie dances. Devout religious beliefs and faith shaped her family values. Her fun-loving, generous, cheerful spirit has created a treasury of fond memories! We truly miss you Mom, Grandma, Sister-in-Law, Aunt, Comadre, and Friend! God blessed us with her incredible love for family and life! Rest in peace and keep your warm smile shining upon us! It’s very comforting to know that you are now in the arms of your Eternal Father and Grandpa.
Visitation: from 5:00 to 9:00pm Sunday, December 27 rosary: 7pm at Martin F.H. Central. Funeral mass: 8:30am Monday, December 28 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
