David Joseph Escobar

David Joseph Escobar, 48, passed away on September 21, 2014. He was born on April 21, 1966 in El Paso, Texas. David received his degree in electronics and worked in that field up to his death. He had many hobbies, but particularly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt with his father and cousin, Mike Maynes and enjoyed playing golf. David was best known for being a diehard Cowboys fan-he truly loved his beloved Cowboys and never missed a game! David is preceded in death by his grandfather Raul R. Rios. He is survived by his father, Jose David Escobar; step-mother, Briggid Escobar; brother, Gregory James Escobar; sisters, Kristen (Fred) Moreno, Brandis Peterson (Johnny Gonzalez), Emma (David) Wilcox, and Chelsea Escobar; grandmother, Guadalupe Rios; two nieces, Ava Rosales and Micaela Hill; four nephews, Gabriel, Carlo, Noah, and Eli Moreno; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. On behalf of the Escobar and Rios family, we would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the ICU at University Medical Center. Also, very special thanks to Luz Lugo for being by David’s side during his illness, his aunt and uncle Anita (Hector) Maynes and Becky (Mike) Abeyta, and his cousin, Mike Maynes for their overwhelming love, comfort, and generosity. Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central, 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, Texas.
