Delia Raquel Sanchez went to be with the Lord on January 09, 2022. She is survived by her three children; son, Jacob Paul Sanchez, and daughters Bianca Raquel Sanchez, and Genesis Marie (Michael) Leabo; grandsons, Eli Robert Garcia and Samson Alexander Leabo; and granddaughter, Sophia Raquel Soares.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo M. Reyna and Guadalupe Montoya Reyna; cherished husband, Manuel Francisco Sanchez of El Paso, Texas, beloved sister, Eva R. Galarza, and beloved brother in law, Roberto Cortez.
She is survived by her siblings Maria Elena Ramirez (Rey), Pedro Reyna (Dolores), Raul Reyna (Violet), Judge Guadalupe R. Gonzalez (Alejandro), Graciela R. Cortez (+Roberto), Ricardo Reyna Jr. (Maria), and +Eva R. Galarza (Charles).
Delia graduated from the College of Education at the University of Texas at El Paso and taught for over 30 years with the Ysleta Independent School District. She was beloved by all her students and she adored them in return. A teacher to the end, she never missed an opportunity to instill a love of learning in the most nurturing and patient manner. The only thing she loved more than teaching was her family; she wore the titles of wife, mom, grandma, sister, and auntie proudly. She personified the expression, “I am blessed to be a blessing” and was a strong woman of faith, who shared God’s words and promises with her children and grandchildren. Without hesitation, Delia was always ready and willing to help family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers with anything, regardless of the need. Her warm demeanor was comforting and her laughter brought joy to everyone around her.
Her legacy is one of family, love, kindness, generosity, and graciousness. Delia exemplified the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31 - whose husband’s heart safely trusts her, whose children call her blessed, who opens her mouth with wisdom, and in whose tongue is the law of kindness, charity is her name, and gold is her heart. She has now received her exceedingly great reward as she rejoices eternally in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Visitation will be at the Abundant Living Faith Center – East, 1000 Valley Crest on Friday,
January 14, 2022, at 11:30 a.m., after which there will be a Christian Service celebrating her life at 1 p.m., followed by internment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
