Elbert Wayne Meagher

We mourn the passing of Elbert Wayne Meagher, age 71, who was born and raised in El Paso. He was married to the love of his life for 33 years. He is survived by his wife Gail Meagher, daughter Dawn Durant and her husband Manny all of El Paso. He is survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Richard Roederer, Anne Roederer Miller, David Roederer, Mary Richardson, nieces: Amanda Miller, Melanie Miller, Nicole Conner, Alisha Despain, Hali Bahner, Riki Roederer and Kara Ivy and nephew Brandon Miller. He is preceded in death by mother Hettie Bernice, father Milo Frederick Meagher and brother Milo Frederick Meagher Jr and step father Frank Wood. He was a Ranger in the Army who loved to bowl, fish, play miniature golf, and to watch old time shows. He loved to talk and tell stories. Nobody was considered a stranger to him. He was tough on the outside but was a marshmallow on the inside. He reminisced quite a bit about his army buddies that were in his squad. He was known as “Hell on Wheels” and was always assigned the toughest missions.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm with funeral service at 2:00pm at First Christian Church; 901 Arizona Ave. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery; 760 S. Compress Rd, Las Cruces, NM 88005.
