Esther Garcia Romero passed away on January 8, 2025 at the age of 105. She was born in Miami, AZ in 1919, but moved with her family to El Paso at an early age and lived here for almost 80 years. She attended Aoy Elementary and Bowie High School, and later had a 25-year career with the U.S. Post Office Department.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Enrique, and by her siblings Raul, Elvira, and Eulalio. She is survived by her sister Anita Aparicio (Rudy); by her four children Henry Jr. (Susan), Martha Gonzalez (Justo), Gloria Aleman (Patrick), and Richard (Sarah); and by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her sweetness, her kindness, her strength and determination, and for her positive attitude. But above all, she will be remembered for her love for her family, and her strong connection to that extended family that stretched from coast-to-coast. This was her most profound characteristic and why she will be remembered with much love and admiration.
