Gloria took me under her wing when I was a new administrator at EPISD. She was so kind and made it a point  to speak and be nice to me.   I will never forget her stories and ability to put others at ease.   Love you Gloria. Rest in peace.

 So many memories that I want to share -  Happy ones, sad ones, crazy ones...
You had many four letter words that you loved to use -
These are some of the ones that were also a part of you
HELP (always there to help )-  GIVE  (always giving ) -
JOLA (your nickname for me) - LOVE ...
YOU  loved me, my kids and so many others - UNCONDITIONALLY.
Gloria you were my ROCK.
The next chapter of my life was to move in with you -
YOU now get to move in with me.

Gloria loved her family and friends very much. She was caring, funny, generous, smart and an excellent educator.  Our summers were spent working at the National Youth Sports Program on the campus of  the University of Texas at El Paso.  She was the director of the program for many years. She made a difference in the lives of so many boys and girls.
 Gloria, I am going to miss you very much. Our visits, late night calls, our wheeling and dealing at your garage sells, our conversations to and from the airport and just  everything. I wish you farewell in your journey home.

I just could not let this time go by without expressing myself,  i know you  are in a happy, better place now, I know Mom must be so close to you and has her arms wrapped around you.  You are safe now.   
Through our differences, I know God knows and has told you i love you very much.  I' m sorry for your unexpected departure and that my heart is broken because of what could have been; what never was and what never will be  
From all the memories your friends posted, it reflects that you were a good, kind person.  
You finally now have come to a place where peace resides 
"The Lord shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace"

My best friend, My Harpie!! She started calling me Harpie and I followed soon after we started working together 14 years ago at Bassett Middle. We laughed and laughed when we looked up the word Harpie. It fit the both of us, we told each other.  We taught side by side last year, and as usual we worked perfectly together. Sharing ideas and finding ways to help students was what did BEST together. My favorite memory of her was when she told the students in her best cowgirl voice as loud as she could that dinner was ready, "come on boys and gals get your supper, chow time!!"  Also when we walked in the classroom and the students at Guillen Middle calling you over to go sit with them and making room for you. There are so many memories I have of her both in and out of the classroom. She was always there for me. I will miss our long night conversations, we never ran out of things to talk about, and mostly her stories. I could hear them over and over again. I could call her anytime and pick up where we left off. I already miss you Gloria. I can just imagine all the children in heaven loving you already. They are lucky to have you. Rest in peace and Save a spot for me,Harpie💜💜💜

There are far too many memories of my little Vega to pick just one. I am blessed to have all these stories to remember her by. She was a straight shooter, never minced words, spoke her mind, and knew her stuff. She was a great friend who would never give up on anyone. She was modest in her good deeds and has earned more than one place up in heaven. I raise a Coke and drink in your honor. I love you my little pain in the butt. I'll see you again one day.

My Dear Aunt Glo - I want to hug you and tell you just how much I love you; but I can't. All our sleepovers, letting me wear your oversized shirts as pjs on my pint-sized child body while wasting all your polaroid film with silly picture after picture, to jamming out to the jukebox with the same song I wanted on repeat over and over! You let me rule your house. You adored me. I loved my Godmother! You helped shape me by giving me my first job at NYSP – spending all day under the sun from sport to sport with hundreds of kids was a challenge for me, but you loved it. Remember when Gil almost lost a kid?! Ha. I didn’t lose a kid, I was perfect at that job, kidding, but I was close :) You loved Wizard of Oz so much, I know you followed the “yellow brick road” up to Grandma. You loved Vegas just as much, and don’t you worry, I am following in your footsteps on that one, Glo! You always seemed to know I just wasn’t a puppy person even though I still try – my mom has taken in how many now?! I wish I would’ve called more, visited more. Despite the ups and downs that’s inevitable within a family, one thing I have learned is that the love within a family is stronger than all else. I love you so much, Glo. I miss you so much. In your scary Principal voice or serious board game playing voice, I know you’re telling me “Stop crying!” I’ll try. You will always be one of a kind. Words can never begin to touch on how to describe you or what you truly meant to me. I know I’ll see my aunt again, but I really wish I could see her now. I love you. Tell Grandma "Hi" for me!
