Linda was born November 19, 1930 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, the sixth of seven children of Altagracia Bobadilla and Herlindo Oropeza, from Huitzuco, Guerrero, Mexico. Her parents had to flee Huitzuco during the Mexican revolution to save their lives eventually settling in Juarez, Mexico in 1921.
She was raised in Juarez and married Pablo Medrano in 1951 and they remained married until Pablo’s death in 2007. They had four boys. In 1959 the family moved to El Paso and bought the home that she lived in until her death.
Linda taught us to be self-sufficient and to always help others whether it be with money or with our time and energy. She taught us to believe in god and to stay in touch with the family. Every Sunday we saw each other or talked on the phone. That was one of her firm rules with her entire family. I will always miss those Sunday talks with her.
Linda is survived by her sons Javier Medrano, Sergio Medrano (Carmen) and Jaime Medrano (Lorraine), daughter-in-law Linda Medrano; her grandchildren, Pablo III, Anne, Susan (Jay), Sergio Jr., Alex, Omar, Melissa Mia, and Jarrod Jaime; two great-grandchildren Aleena and Henry Diego; her brother Jose Oropeza; extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pablo Medrano, her son Pablo Medrano Jr., her grandson Mark Christopher, her brothers Manuel Oropeza, Enrique Oropeza, Jesus Oropeza, and her sister Julia Velasquez.
