October 10, 1937 – October 16, 2025
Irma Cordova, 88, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in the city where she was born and raised.
A proud lifelong El Pasoan, Irma dedicated her life to serving others — her family, her church, and her community. A graduate of Jefferson High School, she was deeply involved in education and community service for decades. Irma was an active leader in the PTA at both the local and national levels and devoted countless hours to the schools that shaped her family and neighborhood — Cooley Elementary, Henderson Middle, and Jefferson High School.
Her faith was central to her life. As a devoted member of Santo Niño de Atocha Catholic Church, Irma was a true pillar of the parish. She taught classes for the youth, served as a communion minister, and helped with the day-to-day operations of the church, always with a warm smile and generous heart.
Irma was the beloved wife of Antonio Cordova, Jr., and the devoted mother of Ida Ortegon, Belinda Corona, and Antonio Cordova III. She was a proud grandmother to Megan Ortegon, Ryan Ortegon, Annelise Corona, Maris Cordova, and Brooklyn Cordova, who were the joy of her life.
Those who knew Irma will remember her as a giving, loving, and selfless woman who never hesitated to help others. Her legacy of compassion, service, and faith will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
