Irma passed away in her sleep on October 17th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aurora and George V. Miramontes.
A graduate of St. Joseph’s, Loretto Academy and the University of Texas El Paso. Irma recently retired from The El Paso Independent School District where she worked as a Campus Administrative Systems Specialist for much of her career. She also worked earlier in a similar capacity in Dallas and at the El Paso Community College.
Irma is survived by her sister, Suzie Castanuela and brother, Victor Miramontes. She is also survived by her nieces, Anndrea Delaney-Arriaga and Elizabeth Croas and nephews Andres V. Miramontes and Jorge A. Miramontes. She had a special bond to her young great-nieces Emma S. Miramontes and Camila R. Miramontes.
She is deeply missed by those who knew and loved her, especially her family and lifelong close friends of El Paso.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Memorial mass will be Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10:15 a.m. The mass will be officiated by Fr. David Garcia of San Antonio at St. Joseph’s Church at 3729 Hueco Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903 with interment to follow at Memorial Gardens of the Valley, 4900 Mc Nutt Road, Santa Teresa, NM.
The family has requested that in memory of Irma all who attend the services are asked to wear colorful clothing.
