Jacqueline (Jacqui) Suzanne Fanning passed away on September 8th 2025, following a long series of health issues. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Colonel (ret) John P. Fanning and Edith Geysen Fanning.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on May 2, 1961, Jacqui cherished her life as an only child and an Army "Brat". She and her parents lived in many places and had the great opportunity to meet many wonderful people both in the military and civilian communities. Fort Bliss/El Paso became the ultimate home for the family.
Jacqui graduated from Burges High School in El Paso and attended the University of Texas at El Paso. She was a Red Cross volunteer at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center, a member of Popular's Department Store Teen Board, rising to Team Leader a year later. Jacqui was also crowned the 1979 Fort Bliss Sun Princess for the Sun Carnival.
She began her 35+ year career in 1985 in El Paso with Nationwide Paper Company, staying with that firm when it transitioned to Dixon Paper Company in 1988. She retired from Dixon in 2020.
Jacqui is survived by many cousins and friends who will miss her greatly.
There will be a Memorial Service Wednesday October 15, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central at 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79903. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the ASPCA would honor Jacqui's memory.
