John Jerome Hammer, 69, of El Paso, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014. He was born to Jerome and Thelma (Clover) Hammer, February 18, 1945, in Seattle, WA. A graduate of Whittier High School in California, he came to El Paso in 1965 as a soldier in the U.S. Army. He received a business degree from UT-El Paso and was a retired salesman. Known for his big laugh and positive attitude, he was a devoted father and friend who will be greatly missed. John is survived by his son, Jason Hammer and daughter-in-law, Alison of Houston; three grandchildren Emily, Rachel, and Joshua; and brother, Ronald of Utah. Visitation will take place at Martin Funeral Home - Central from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
