Jonathan Aric Mims was born on October 26, 1983, in San Angelo, Texas, and passed away at his home in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on Friday, March 31, 2023. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Herbert and Patricia Mims of El Paso, Texas, and brother, Jeremy Mims of Rockhill, South Carolina, as well as a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, TX 79938. Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Scotsdale Baptist Church, 10015 Lockerbie Ave., El Paso, TX 79925. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery. A reception will follow at Journey of Faith Community Church, 3481 Ascension, El Paso, TX 79938.
Jonathan graduated from Hanks High School in El Paso, and New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. After graduation he worked as a mechanical engineer for the US government at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, 2007 to present. Jonathan loved people, whom he made to laugh with his jovial personality. He also loved sports, snowboarding, off-roading, being creative, building with Legos, and much more.
Most importantly, Jonathan came to know Jesus Christ as Savior as he grew up in Scotsdale Baptist Church. He was instrumental in bringing others to faith in Christ as well.
