Matha, may you continue to RIP with our Lord and your husband Fernie.  We remember both of you often, as you reside in our memories with cherished moments we shared with you two.

Till we meet again dear cousin and friend.

I always remember how my sister Martha would play the piano before we had television.   In the evenings we would sit around our living room and sing along with songs she would play.   She could play any popular tune she heard on the radio .   I like to remember her that way because she brought so much happiness to our family and friends.

Our deepest condolences to all the family of Martha V. L. Cisneros.  Martha was my wife's (Elizabeth Lightbourn Nunez) cousin.  I had the pleasure of meeting her at Tex-Togs, Inc functions (where her husband Fernie worked; my wife also worked there when we lived in El Paso, TX ) she attended.  Both Martha and Fernie were among the most loving, wonderful and accepting people we've ever known.  We are certain that she and Fernie are again reunited in Heaven.  May she both RIP with our Lord.

your wonderful hugs and beautiful conversations … you always made me feel special and loved …. You gave me my nickname Cindy Lou which I loved hearing you call me that … I really loved Dolores Pain  her nickname alway made laugh. I’m so glad the last time I was in town and Brandon and I visited you and it was so wonderful… Thank you for always loving me and know I will miss your beautiful smile Rest In Peace … please give Nina a big hug … until we meet again

My sister Martha was several years older than me, but she played with me when we were growing up.  She loved playing with my doll house that had much furniture which she loved to rearrange often. She shared her paper dolls of current movie stars which she cut out carefully.   Once in a while she would remind me that I had broken her Shirley Temple doll ;  she taught me to be careful with my dolls.
       Martha was talented.  She could play popular songs without music sheets just by listening to the radio.    Before T.V. , our family often  sat around singing along while Martha played both Mexican 
popular songs as well as the songs on the Hit Parade.   Although she  had taken piano lessons,  she managed to trick her teacher into playing the music she was assigned to learn at home so reading music was not her thing.   My mother wondered later on why I didn't learn to play popular music  as fast as Martha had done at my age!
During her high school years,  she worked at various  stores downtown and eventually got a job at Hollsworth Jewelry where she continued happily for many years.   She was an excellent  sales-person because she loved the merchandise plus she was always an attractive, well- groomed young woman.

Martha always loved to dance and would help my two brothers 
practice how to the  jitterbug after supper in the kitchen.   I loved it because while she helped my older brother,  Joe,  my brother George would dance with me trying all the stunts that he  had seen in the movies.  

Everything changed when Martha met Fernie Cisneros, her future husband.  They married in 1952 and for the first time in my life, Martha and I did not share our double bed.     Fortunately,  Martha and I remained connected in many ways even though I moved from El Paso.  She would write long letters and we would talk  for hours when  I visited.    I will miss our telephone conversations, but I have 
lovely memories of our years together growing up and then seeing 
her family . 

 





My dear, wonderful and beautiful Aunt Martha always made me feel special! She always made the holidays special with her great cooking and especially the best chile con queso anywhere! She was a stalwart of support in my life and saved me from her tyrant dog Fritz when I was scared of dogs as a small child. She leaves behind great children who I am proud to call my cousins!
