Martin Gontiz nació en Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, México, el 5 de junio de 1964 y falleció el 20 de noviembre de 2025. Asistió por un breve tiempo a la preparatoria Jefferson antes de obtener su GED a través de Job Corps. Después de Job Corps, también completó su entrenamiento de CDL, lo que le permitió construir una carrera como conductor de camiones, un trabajo que realmente disfrutaba. Manejar su tráiler por las carreteras de Estados Unidos era una de sus mayores alegrías.
A Martin le encantaba jugar y ver fútbol. Fue portero de su equipo local e incluso ganó un campeonato de fútbol durante su tiempo en Job Corps. Sus equipos favoritos eran el Club América y el FC Juárez.
Además de manejar y el fútbol, Martin disfrutaba ver corridas de toros, ver videos musicales en su sistema de cine en casa, visitar el casino y comer burritos de sus restaurantes locales favoritos. Sobre todo, Martin apreciaba pasar tiempo con su familia y seres queridos. Le encantaba invitar a la familia a su casa o viajar a Juárez para visitar. Tenía un don para hacer reír a los demás y nunca perdía la oportunidad de hacerlo.
Le sobreviven su madre, Maria Teresa Gontiz; su esposa, Andrea Gontiz; sus hermanos, Diana Valenzuela, Elizabeth Gontiz y Carlos Gontiz; sus hijos, Leticia Zapata, Juan Vargas, Luis Vargas, Alex Gontiz, Andrea Gontiz y Jonathan Ramirez; y sus nietos, Sebastian Zapata, Diego Vargas Quiroz, Alessairam Aguiniga, Gael Zapata, Mateo Vargas Quiroz, Alessandro Gontiz, Marcelo Gontiz, Gianluca Vargas y Reyniel Ramirez.
Le precede en muerte su padre, Antonio Gontiz.
Visitación se llevará a cabo el 12 de diciembre de 2025 de 5:00 pm a 10:00 pm con servicio de escrituras a las 6:30pm en la Funeraria Del Ángel Central, 3839 Montana Ave, El Paso, Texas, 79903.
Martin será profundamente extrañado y siempre recordado por todos aquellos que lo conocieron y lo amaron.

Martin Gontiz was born in Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, on June 5, 1964, and passed away on November 20, 2025. He attended Jefferson High School for a brief time before earning his GED through Job Corps. After Job Corps he also completed his CDL training. This allowed him to build a career as a truck driver—a job he truly enjoyed. Driving his semi-truck on the road across the United States was one of his greatest joys.
Martin loved playing and watching soccer. He was a goalkeeper for his local team and even won a soccer championship during his time at Job Corps. His favorite teams were Club América and FC Juárez.
Beyond trucking and soccer, Martin enjoyed watching bullfighting, watching music videos on his home theater system, visiting the casino and eating burritos from his favorite local restaurants. Above all, Martin cherished spending time with his family and loved ones. He loved inviting family over or traveling to Juárez to visit. He always made others laugh and never missed an opportunity to do so.
Martin is survived by his mother, Maria Teresa Gontiz; his wife, Andrea Gontiz; his siblings, Diana Valenzuela, Elizabeth Gontiz, and Carlos Gontiz; his children, Leticia Zapata, Juan Vargas, Luis Vargas, Alex Gontiz, Andrea Gontiz, and Jonathan Ramirez; and his grandchildren, Sebastian Zapata, Diego Vargas Quiroz, Alessairam Aguiniga, Gael Zapata, Mateo Vargas Quiroz, Alessandro Gontiz, Marcelo Gontiz, Gianluca Vargas, and Reyniel Ramirez.
He is preceded in death by his father, Antonio Gontiz.
Visitation will be Friday, December 12, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm with a scripture service at 6:30 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903.
Martin will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
