She was born on April 8, 1931 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Ignacio Hernandez and Petra Juarez Silva. She was married to Paulino for 59 years before his passing on May 25, 2009.
She was a caring and generous person, offering love and support to everyone who entered her life. She enjoyed cooking for her family and helping raise many of her grandchildren. She especially loved preparing her children’s favorite meal for their birthday. She reveled in her children’s accomplishments and for many years was very active in her neighborhood Church Group.
Ofelia lived a full life that included dancing, cooking, playing domino’s and drinking her “Coors Light” while listening to music. Some of her favorites were Javier Solis, Eydie Gorme and Antonio Aguilar.
Ofelia was a devoted and loving wife, grandmother and great grandmother and will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know her and be a part of her life. This includes her many puppies but in particular Boo Boo who never left her side.
She was predeceased by her husband Paulino, her Mother Petra, her sons Jose and Manuel. Ofelia is survived by 5 children, Gloria Nevarez (Pedro +), Estela Padilla (Joe), Maggie Rodriguez-Foster (Ken), Rudy Guerrero (Elva) and Martha Ramirez (Willie).
She is survived by 29 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Rudy Guerrero, Robert Rodriguez, Jr., Orlando Padilla, Rudy Guerrero, Jr., Louie Ramirez and Carlos Nevarez.
Visitation and Rosary will be from 5 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Funeraria del Angel - Central. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at Our Lady of Assumption. Internment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
