Our momma was a woman of God who loved her family immensely. For over fifty years, she served Friendship Baptist church on the Usher Board, Women’s Mission, and as a Sunday school teacher. She also served her community as a Nurse, where she touched numerous lives and shared the gospel of Jesus Christ every chance that was afforded to her. Born in 1934, in Aiken S.C., to Kenneth Roland and Bessie Jackson. She was raised in Washington D.C., where she met the love of her life, L.D. Warfield. In 1953, they decided to share their life together and raised nine children over the span of 53 years.
She was a woman who loved to cook for her children, grandchildren, and anyone else who would come over to our house. Momma had a passion for people. At every turn, she took the opportunity to show God’s goodness to everyone that crossed her path. She was a blessing through her kind words of wisdom and open heart. Later in life, she had the opportunity to travel several times a year to Aruba, New York, the Caribbean, and Mexico; Mom was always ready for a new adventure. She was a loyal servant of God, who was blessed with 10 children and eleven grandchildren.
On August 19, 2022, Mommas’ presence was commanded by the Lord. Although we were not ready for her to leave, as a faithful servant of God, she was more than willing to answer the call.
We will miss Momma. We will miss her sweet kind disposition, her warm embrace, and her beautiful smile, that would brighten up the darkest of days.
Momma leaves behind a legacy through seven children, Bertha, Patricia, Larry Jr., Deacon Terry, Charles, Sarah (Quintin), Michael (Araceli). Furthermore, her legacy will be seen through her nine grandchildren Ray, Richard, Jennifer, Jerry, Latasha, Marcus, Jasmine, Cecilia, Mila, and thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, sister Ruth, children Betsy Lavern, Jerry, Marilyn, grandchildren Ciara Everett, Clifford, and Son-in-law Ray.
Momma will be missed, never forgotten, and always loved.
