Mr. Reyes G. Garcia Rodriguez, age 98, passed away on September 20th, 2022 in El Paso, TX. He was born on January 05, 1924 in Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico. He was the son of the late Justo Garcia and Juanita Rodriguez.
In his youth, Mr. Garcia was a local boxer at the neighborhood gym. He was a devout Catholic and attended Cristo Rey church in El Paso, Texas.
Mr. Garcia was also a champion dominoes player! He enjoyed the game of dominoes and Chinese checkers enormously. He loved all animals, especially his beloved chihuahua Casper and his lab mix Mya.
Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mercedes F. Estrada de Garcia.
He is survived by his son Lorenzo Reyes Verbitskey, daughters Mercedes G. Hernandez, Martha G. Reid, and Margarita G. Lucero; his seven grandchildren, Blanca Estella Ibarra, Hector J. Ibarra, Mercedes K. Manuel, April Rae McWilliams, Joshua Kaye McWilliams, Travis Dylan Villa and Cody Rey Hernandez and his four great grandchildren Talia Lyric Sharpe, Janelle Ava Ibarra, Isaiah J. Ibarra and Nasir Aubrey Simmons.
The family would like to thank his great caregiver Amelia Almuina, TLC Hospice of El Paso and their sweet and caring nursing staff, Celine and Amber.
Visitation for Reyes will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with Vigil at 8:00PM, at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cristo Rey Church, 8011 Williamette Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79907. Committal service will follow at 12:30 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park, 4848 Alps, El Paso, Texas 79904.
