

Robert "Bob" F. Herndon, of El Paso passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 4th at the age of 77. A native of El Paso, Bob was raised by his maternal grandmother and spent seven years of his childhood traveling the country with the Boys Town Choir, later graduating from Austin High School. He married his pen pal of 2 years, Nell Ferguson, in 1955. He then spent 2 years in the army. He and Nell were happily married for 56 years and had two daughters together.
Bob was a talented entrepreneur, starting his own corporation in 1976, which came to be known as "The Brass Shop" which is still operated by the family. He was both a leader in the entrepreneurial community and a mentor of many business people over the years. He was also an avid practical jokester, had a sharp wit, and a never-ending supply of great jokes.
He is survived by his wife Nell, daughters Anne Herndon of Fort Worth and Donna Herndon of El Paso, and loving granddaughter Katie.

All services will be held at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana.Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 and funeral on Friday, August 10 at 11:00. Private burial to be held at a later date.
