It is truly heart-breaking as I had the privilege and honor to know Rocio. I will always treasure our very youthful time together however brief that may have been, it was a moment in my life i will not forget. Though we lost touch with one another for many years, to connect back up through FB and other social network platforms later in our lives was a true blessing for me even if it was just an occasional call or message to say hello. I so appreciate her wisdom, knowledge and philosophical approach in helping me through some of my own life's challenges over the past several years. I only wish I could have been there for her during hers. Although many years had passed, it almost seemed as though we picked up right where we left off as she was still very much the beautiful, intelligent, philosophical, thoughtful girl/woman that I recall as teenagers but then she was always well beyond her years. My heart, where she will always remain, goes out to Erica,  Rosa, her children, grandchildren and the countless other family, friends, co-workers that she deeply touched with her grace and wisdom. Indeed she was something special and I am grateful to have had something special with her. Rest in peace dear Cio and may you forever be dancing and laughing up there with your wonderful Dad and one day we will continue ours...❤️

In loving memory of Rocio Esmeralda Benedicto. She was a beacon of strength, humor,  and compassion. She was so easy to converse with and share thoughts, ideas, dreams, and even at times the sadness we all experience in life. Seeing her always brought a smile to my lips, because she was just so very captivating, loving, and approachable. She was, and always will be, a lioness. I am so sad and sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of knowing Rocio through our work together for public education.  She was a vibrant and compassion leader and ever so graceful in all things.  I wish you peace and God’s grace during this period.  


I cannot believe Rocio is not here anymore 😢.

I will always remember her that in my hardest moments, she always took her time to listen and help me.  

I will always remember her with so much love 🌹🌹🌹🌹 and gratitude.

I am deeply saddened for the loss of Rocio and her light in this world. The tragedy of the loss is ineffable. I remember her smile, her wit, her books, and the love that she had for her family and children. Rocio helped me to understand and recognize that a mother's love is a force of nature. Andria, Patrick, Alyssa and Sara, I am especially heartbroken for your loss - your mom always wanted the best for you. Erica, your sister was always so proud of you.  Rosa, I pray for you and send my most deep felt condolences - your daughter understood the importance of having you in her life. Rocio was a unique and powerful presence in the world. I am grateful for having had an opportunity to have shared time in that world. She will be with me always.
