On March 22, 2021, Rudy J Ramos passed on to be with our Savior Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 83. Rudy was a Great man; Kind, Caring, Loving, Giving and he had a Great sense of humor which gave many people joy.
He is survived by his son Steve (wife Alicia) Ramos, brothers Ruben (Gloria) Ramos, Richard (Rosemary) Ramos, sisters Helen Ramos, Elma and (Don) Vogelgesang, Geni (Kurt) Gamnig, Hortensia (Walter) Sims, Martha (Javier) Perea. Rudy is also survived by two Grandsons Jessie, Stevie, J.J., Granddaughters Tesla, Evelyn, Pam, Mariana, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by death of his Wife of over 40 years Estela V. Ramos, Son John H. Ramos, Mother Aurora Barrientos and Father Vicente Ramos.
Rudy joined the United States Air Force to defend our nation and served 4 years. After the Air Force he joined the El Paso Fire Department and remained in the department for almost 30 years. He became an Arson Investigator/Inspector and was a certified piece officer in Texas. Rudy also started the Junior Fire Marshalls Program, where he spent many hours at the local El Paso Elementary schools teaching fire safety. Rudy was also Co-founder of an organization named Reach for a Star. Himself and other volunteers granted last wishes to terminally ill children, to include trips to Disney Land, family vacations, shopping sprees, Thanksgiving and Christmas parties each year.
Rudy also loved sports, especially Golf. He played and coached for many years. Volunteered to give First Aid at the El Paso Diablo games to the fans who needed it. Attended many UTEP Football games and he was a long time Dallas Cowboys Fan.
Rudy will Deeply be Missed but will Always Live in our Minds and Souls. Rest in Peace until we Meet Again in Spirit.
Visitation from 4:00-8:00pm, with Rosary at 6:00pm, Sunday, March 28, at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue. Funeral Mass will be Monday, March 29, at 11:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 2709 Alabama. Graveside service 1:30pm Monday at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
