Virginia L. Keown

Virginia (Ginger) Keown, 71 went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, September 28, 2011. She was born November 7, 1939. She was loved by all who knew her. She devoted her life to her family and never hesitated to help her friends. She was strong and loving woman. She worked for the City of El Paso Street Department for almost 20 years. She also worked for H&R Block for over 19years and loved her job, the friends she worked with, and being able to help people. She was member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and she loved the Lord. She was a giving person who never expected anything in return. There are not enough words from the people who loved her, to express how we all felt about her. She was a loving wife, friend, sister, daughter, mom and nana. We will miss her beyond belief. She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Layson, her father, William Thomas Layson, her sister, Ann Smith, her brother Michael Layson, and her granddaughter, Melissa Keown. She is survived by husband Eugene Keown, children; Jerri Ann Livingston, Rita Miles, Matthew Keown, Gina Keown, Michelle Keown, and Ruben Hernandez. Her Grandchildren; Matthew Keown, James Keown, Mark Keown, Lyndsey Keown, Miranda Keown, and Zachary Miles. Her siblings; Bud Layson, Lynette O’Nan, Charlie Layson, Sally Gray, and Betsy Nelson. Her “oldest” friend Rita Bentley, and her children; Antoinette and Danny Bentley. Visitation will be 5pm to 9pm Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Martin Funeral Home Central. Funeral Service will be 9:45 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Hillcrest Baptist Church 4710 Hercules. Pallbearers Matthew Keown, Matthew Keown, Jr., James Keown, Mark Keown, Ruben Hernandez and Danny Bentley.
