

Matthew Allen Zinn was born on January 10, 1965, to Charles E. and Peggy A. Zinn in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania. He passed away peacefully at his home on February 17, 2026, at the age of 61. Having lived in Umatilla, Florida, for 16 years, Matthew was a cherished husband, brother, and uncle. He is fondly remembered for his devotion to God, his unwavering support and love for his family, and his gift for making others smile and laugh with his remarkable sense of humor.
Matthew proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1983 to 1993, attaining the rank of Sergeant and participating in Desert Storm. His accomplishments also included certifications in Rodeo Bull Riding, Scuba Diving, and as a Drill Instructor. After his military career, he worked as a forklift operator.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica L. Knowles-Zinn, and brothers Greg Zinn of Kansas; Ronald (Dot) Zinn, Todd (Krystal) Zinn, and Chad (Jennifer) Zinn of York, Pennsylvania. Matthew leaves behind ten nieces and nephews—Eric, Kari, Alex, Travis, Nicholas, Zachary, Heather, Evan, Mattie, Chet—and several great nieces and nephews.
Since 2019, Matthew had been an active member of Fellowship Church of Leesburg, Florida, continuing his faith-filled journey. He was known for placing baby Jesus figurines with loved ones and throughout his community, simply "to leave a little Jesus in the lives of those who needed him."
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for
March 21, 2026, at Harden-Pauli Funeral Home,
1617 South Bay Street, Eustis, FL, from 1:01 pm to 2:01 pm.
Matthew Allen Zinn’s life was defined by service to his country, deep commitment to his family, and a spirit that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
