Robert George Baird

Robert George Baird affectionately known as "Santa", age 69, passed away on March 23, 2026. He was born on November 30, 1956, in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Vantine and Donna Mae McCaslin Baird and was raised there. Santa moved to Leesburg in 1995 coming from Ellwood City. Santa was a devoted, steadfast man whose life was marked by quiet strength and faithful love. He was a resident of Eustis, Florida. Santa worked as a plumber, a dependable trade that reflected his practical skill and steady work ethic. In all he did, he approached life with a grounded sense of purpose and a willingness to help. He was married to Sandy Baird of Eustis, Florida. He is also survived by his family: son Jon and Theresa Renaud of Astatula, Florida; son James (Predeceased) and Ami Irving of Altoona, Florida; step-son Michael Allen and Brandi Weihl of LaPierre, Michigan; step-son Matthew William and Hope Weihl of Berthold, North Dakota; step-daughter Michelle Ann and Stephon) Weihl of Paisley, Florida; brother Frank; sisters Faith and Hope; cousin Beth; three grandchildren, Annie, Olivia, and Nora; 17 step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. A man of simple joys and enduring interests, Robert loved biking and loved tractors—pastimes that suited his steady spirit and appreciation for the outdoors and honest work. Robert was a member of The Paisley Church in Paisley, Florida, where he found community and fellowship. A celebration of life will be held at First Church of God, Eustis on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM. He will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who knew him.
