Susan Afshar Paul

Susan Afshar Paul, age 71, passed away on April 13, 2026. Susan was a selfless mother who put her children and family above all else. Susan was the foundation of her family, and supported her children in all of their endeavors. As a mother, Susan was her childrens' greatest cheerleader and advocate. Susan was also a kind and giving friend to those that had the privilege to know and work with her. Susan will be fondly remembered as a generous and warm soul, and a fearless fighter in her battle against Multiple Sclerosis.

Born February 1, 1955, in Tehran, Iran, Susan earned her bachelor's in science from the University of Iowa, and later moved to Central Florida from Iowa City, making her home in the Longwood and Altamonte Springs, Florida area.

Susan was a laboratory manager in various sectors of the healthcare field, including a long tenure with VA Hospitals.

Susan is survived by her son, Jonathan Paul (Vanessa Botero) of Orlando, FL; her daughter, Jennifer Eureka (Andrew "Bud") of Mount Dora, FL; her brothers, Paul Harbottle of North Salem, NY and Mark Harbottle of London, England; and her grandchildren, Victoria, Julian, Emery, and Cooper. The family plans to honor Susan's memory and legacy at celebration of Susan's life at a later date, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
