

Betty Louise Rippy, age 78, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by family.
Betty had been a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and was a life member of the Riverbend Association. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon and IU basketball.
Surviving Betty are her husband of 59 years, Richard Rippy; two daughters, Cindy (Bob) Miller of Terre Haute, IN and Janna (Dave) Dodson of Evansville; three sons, Steve Rippy and Scott (Leann) Rippy, both of Evansville and Mike(Michelle) Rippy of Dwight, IL; a sister, Merilyn (Lester) Weiss of Mt. Vernon, IN and brother, Ted Rabe of Evansville. Also surviving are her stepmother, Virginia Gee of Carmel, IN; twenty two grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and a longtime friend, Carol Bengert.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, W.P. Elmer Rabe and Martha Melinda (Walls) Rabe.
Funeral services for Betty will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Arlene Okey officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
The Rippy family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Visiting Nurse Association, especially Michelle and Joy for their compassionate care of Betty through the years.
