

She owned and operated St. Joe Inn for over 20 years, which she poured her heart and soul into. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making "homemade" bread and pies for her customers. She also loved spending time with her siblings. They would go on vacations to the Smokies where they shopped at flea markets for antiques. Darlene most enjoyed following her granddaughter's golf career throughout high school and college.
Darlene was preceded in death by her companion, Harold E. Lynch; sisters, Betty Brown and Karen Scott; and brother, Melvin D. Mossberger.
She is survived by her son, Michael A. Young; daughter-in-law, Susan M. Young; granddaughter, Chanice Young; sisters, LaVerne O'Neal and Cinda (Walter) Hale; brothers, Ronald W., Robert (Marilyn), David (Ida Lou) and Jerry (Brenda) Mossberger; brothers-in-law, Lewis Brown and Benny Scott; sisters-in-law, Judy Mossberger, Linda Young and Nancy Barker; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Fr. Gene Schroeder, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
