Dorothy Mae Bennett has finally met her Lord and Savior face to face. Heaven's gates swung open wide and our dear Mother was kicking up the gold dust as she entered into Heaven on Thursday, January 30, 2014.
Dorothy was born April 9, 1920, and lived 93 years serving her Savior.
She was known in the Christian community as Sister Bennett. For decades she faithfully taught Sunday School and was a Missionary Leader in The Salvation Army and Church of the Nazarene.
As a family, we are excited to think about her reunion with her son, Danny Bennett, who paved the way for her homecoming in 1990, as well as with her husband of 68 years, William, who passed away in 2008.
Dorothy is survived by her eldest son, William Bennett, Jr., Beverly (Dan) Pietrowski, Tim (Lvonne) Bennett and James (Lisa) Bennett. She has left a wonderful legacy for her 14 grandchildren, Tony, Trena, Joshua, Kevin, Derreck, Heath, Breann, Jason, Wesley, Jill, Adam, Philip, Ellen, and Laura; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Alexander Memorial Park, Heritage Chapel, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Saturday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel.
To honor her, Mom would count it all joy if donations were made to the Gideon Bible Society in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderEastChapel.com.
