

Elmer Henry Young, 93, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at The Heritage Center. Elmer was born in Evansville, Indiana on October 5, 1919 to the late William and Elizabeth (Stock) Young. Elmer retired from Whirlpool after 33 years of service, drove a school bus for the EVSC for 17 years and farmed his entire life. Elmer enjoyed playing Clabber, hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the Evansville Athletic Club, a lifetime member of River Bend Association, a member of St. Pauls UCC German Township, a 4-H leader, a 32 degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and the Hadi Shrine Motor Corps. Elmer is survived by his wife of 71 Years, Fern (Doninger) Young of Evansville, IN; daughter, Patricia Vanzant of Evansville, IN; sons, Robert W Young of Evansville, IN, Kenneth W (Marilyn) Young of Evansville, IN, and James (Cynthia) Young of Evansville, IN; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild Elmer is preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald E. Young; 4 sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, February 19,2013 at Browning Funeral Home 738 Diamond Ave. with Rev. Dan Sather officiating. Entombment will follow at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home.
