James E Gore

James "Jim" E. Gore, 90, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Deaconess Hospice. He was born July 3, 1924, in Evansville, Indiana.
Jim proudly served as a Seargant in the US Army during WWII and received both an American and Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, two Bronze Stars, and a Good Conduct Medal.
He was a radio operator, known as Speed Key, working with Morse code in the China Offensive.
He retired from Whirlpool.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Myrtle Gore; sister, Geraldine Snyder; and brother, Joe Gore.
Jim is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita P. (Tarrants) Gore; daughters, Deborah Riggs of Evansville and Catherine Raider (Ken) of San Antonio, FL; grandson, Ryan Riggs; granddaughter, Sarah Kimble; and great grandchildren, Hannah Riggs, Kara Kimble, and Jenna Kimble; sister, Betty Freeman; and nieces and nephews. He also left behind his beloved dog, Baby Lil.
Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive. Friends may visit Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the cemetery.
