

Matthew was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 21, 1953 to the late Lee and Jane Marie (Hughes) Jordan. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1971 and joined the United States Air Force. Matthew was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing and kayaking. He was a member of the VFW Post 1114, a member of Ducks Unlimited, and played bagpipes in the Kyilindi Pipes and Drums band. Matthew worked for 25 years in the thermodynamics lab at Whirlpool. He loved his pepper garden and was a very enthusiastic storyteller who loved to laugh.
Matthew is survived by his sons, Matthew L. Jordan and Michael Jordan (Jessica); daughter, Kate Jordan, all of Evansville; sister, Catherine Sulak of Pacifica, CA; brothers, Mark Jordan (Cheryl) of Greenfield, IN and Craig Jordan of Evansville; grandchildren, Dylan Matthew Paymard, Madison Kolley, and Elizabeth Jane Jordan; 4 nieces, 2 nephews, and 3 great nieces.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Martha Hendricks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 22, 2016 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 5301 Daylight Dr, Evansville, IN 47725, with Father Chris Forler officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct Military Rites.
Friends may visit from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN, 47711, and again from 9:00 AM until time of mass on Monday at the church.
