

Anna Lucile Graves Calkins, 83, passed on to our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 25, 2018, surrounded by family at home. She was born to Clarence and Margaret Graves on Nov. 1, 1934 in Glencoe, OK and moved to Lake Stevens, WA as a young child. In high school, she met her one true love, Richard Addison Calkins. They were married in 1951. Anna was very active in the development of vocational education at Lake Stevens High School and served as treasurer of the Marysville Rock and Gem Club in later years. She was talented in painting, jewelry design, and lapidary and was a gifted Toastmaster. Together with her daughter, she formed Calkins and Johnson, a successful Marysville accounting firm for many years. Anna also served on the Marysville Chamber of Commerce. She is survived by her children - Debra Calkins, Sheryl Brossard (Don), Chris Calkins (Ellen), James Calkins (Sylvia), 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and a grandson. Anna will be remembered as a loving mother, a giver, a champion of the underdog – and for an infectious laugh that entertained all who knew her. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 30 at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
