Barbara Mae Haines, aged 94, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Born on April 21, 1930, in Norfolk, Nebraska, she was the eldest of five children to Joyce (Bud) Lamm and Helen Lamm.
In 1949, Barbara married James Haines, and together they spent 20 wonderful years in Montana before relocating to Washington in 1970, where she lived until her passing. Their union was blessed with three children: Cheryl (Bill) Caudle of Marysville, WA; Mark Haines of Great Falls, MT; and Jay (Lori) Haines of Marysville, WA. Barbara cherished her role as a grandmother to eight grandchildren and found immense joy in the presence of her many great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Bossard, and her brother, David Lamm. She also faced the profound loss of her beloved husband, James, who passed away on January 13, 2018. She is survived by her two brothers, John Lamm of Lincoln, NE, and Rob Lamm of Norfolk, NE.
Barbara found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing in the San Juan Islands and camping at Thousand Trails in La Conner, WA. She expressed her artistic talents through her beautiful paintings and a heartfelt book of poems. Additionally, she was a devoted fan of Nebraska Cornhuskers football, proudly supporting her team over the years.
Barbara was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for many years and enjoyed teaching and Bible study. Her faith and commitment to sharing God's word were evident in her life and the lives she touched.
Her legacy of love, creativity, and passion for life will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
